The Audi A8L Security can protect its occupants from Kalashnikov AK47 7.62x39mm bullets fired at it from a distance of 20metres. The glass used for the windows and windshields in the car is multilayered while the fully armoured cabin is made of ceramics, special aluminum alloys, aramide and high-strength steel. All this to ensure that no projectile can get through and that includes the after effects of a bomb blast.
The Audi A8L Security has sensors fitted which warn and control any condition happening on the outside of the car. For instance, if there is fire on the outside of the car, sensors will automatically deploy a fire extinguisher to douse the flames.
There are even more advanced sensors which can see what the human eye can’t. For example, if there is a gas attack, the sensors will ascertain that the air is not breathable and it will at once trigger a system, which releases oxygen in the cabin and this will result in the passengers being able to breathe properly and also create a difference between the pressure inside and outside the car, which will not allow the contaminated air getting inside.

There is an unique Audi-patented get away system to be used during emergencies. It is to be used in the eventuality of the doors not opening. What the system does is to blow away the doors off their hinges, allowing the occupants to escape from the car.

Engine
As the car is unlike any other in the Audi range, the A8L Security comes fitted with the best in engine and other fittings. Providing power to the A8L Security is a massive 6300cc W12 engine which is capable of a prodigious output of 500bhp @ 6200rpm and very healthy torque output of 625Nm @ 4750rpm.

All this power is channeled to the tyres by a eight-speed triptronic automatic gearbox. The car is also fitted with the famed quattro all wheel drive system. The A8L Security is capable of touching speeds in excess of 210kmph while it can accelerate from 0-100kmph in only 7.3 seconds.
Other systems like the brakes and the adaptive air suspension have been re-tuned to handle the increase in the mass of the car and similarly other fittings have also been bolstered.
