General Motors Launches LPG Version Of Chevrolet Beat
General Motors has recently unveiled the LPG version of its popular hatchback Chevrolet Beat. The compact car boasts of a state-of-the-art environment friendly “SmartTech” engine.
The LPG powered Chevrolet Beat will be available in two variants – the top end Chevrolet Beat LT LPG and the base model Chevrolet Beat LS LPG. The advanced automobile technology and the integrated multi-point sequential injection ensure jerking and backfire free smooth transition from petrol to LPG without loss of power.
Moreover, when LPG supply ceases, the car will run on petrol without manual adjustments. The LPG kit installed in the hatchback meets the stringent safety standard to minimize adverse effects of a collision.
The SmartTech engine would pump 80.04PS of maximum power at 6200rpm and up to 104Nm of torque at 4400rpm. It offers up to 13.29km/kg mileage on LPG fuel on highways and 11.2km/kg mileage on city roads. The fuel tank loaded in the new LPG variants of Chevrolet Beat could hold 35-liter of petrol and 26-liter of LPG. The hatchback could cover 349km on a full LPG tank, and you can drive your car for up to 1000km by combining LPG with petrol.
The LPG powered Chevrolet Beat retains the styling and safety features of the petrol variants. Its stylish exterior boasts of body colored bumper and door handles, large headlamps, bold front grille and outside rear view mirrors.
The interior of the B-segment hatchback offers the luxurious features of a sedan. It flaunts fabric upholstery, dual tone dashboard, leather covered gear knob and steering wheel and adjustable seats. It offers plenty of luggage space, legroom and headspace.
Chevrolet Beat LPG is available with large puncture free tubeless tires. Its front suspension is equipped with McPherson strut and compound link type suspension is present at the rear.
The four gas filled shock absorbers further enhance the stability of the hatchback. Anti Lock Braking System is present in the top end variants. The dual SRS airbag and 2.5mph impact proof bumpers reduce injuries during mishaps. The top end model boasts of built-in audio system with four speakers. However, the music system is absent in the base model.
Chevrolet Beat LPG would cost between Rs.4.10 lakhs and Rs.4.53 lakhs.
