Tata Motors Unveils Pixel Small Car Concept
Tata Pixel, a new small car concept from Tata Motors, was unveiled at the 81st Geneva Motor Show. Built on the Tata Nano platform, the new small car from the stable of the creator of the world’s cheapest car has enough interior space to accommodate four adult passengers comfortably.
Tata Pixel has been designed primarily for the European market. Tata Motors has given its new car concept a unique design. The 1.2l diesel engine of Tata Pixel is positioned at the rear of the hatchback. The fast warm up and variable coolant and oil pump technologies integrated in the small car enhance the productivity of the three-cylinder, turbocharged, low friction powertrain.
The upcoming Tata hatchback, a little more than 3m in length, could be easily parked even in the tightest parking space. The ease of parking the car is made possible with the built-in Zero Turn drive. The outer rear wheel rotates forwards, the inner rear wheel turns backwards and the front wheel rotates at an angle, producing only 2.6-meter turning circle radius with the aid of the innovative “Zero Turn toroidal traction-drive Infinitely Variable Transmission”. After parking the hatchback at the tightest spot in the parking zone, you can promptly disembark through the diamond shaped scissor doors effortlessly.
Tata Motors has added minimal frill to the exterior of its innovative car. The forward sweeping skyline accentuates the youthful vigor of the hatchback. Tata Pixel meets the stringent European energy efficiency norms.
The advanced stop-start system, the optimal aerodynamic drag, intelligent battery charging technology and the low-rolling resistance tires of Tata Pixel limit fuel usage to 3.4-liter per 100 km.
Tata Pixel will also be the first hatchback featuring built-in human machine interface, dubbed ‘My Tata Connect”. It supports seamless connection between the integrated infotainment system of the hatchback and the smartphone of the user.
The multi touch customizable display equipped with intelligent user interface will play your favorite songs. You can access the latest news and stock market updates. You can even control interior temperature and ventilation, adjust air conditioning settings directly from touchscreen tablet.
Tata Motors has not yet revealed the availability and pricing details of the hatchback.
